Energy Development and Transmission

 

We have broad experience advising large gas and electric utilities and renewable energy companies on regulatory matters concerning their facilities and operations.  

 

• We represented the California Energy Commission and the Natural Resources Agency in a process to initiate the Desert Renewable Energy Conservation Plan, which is intended to provide the basis for approvals and permitting of renewable energy portfolio projects throughout the southern California deserts. 

 

• We have assisted two of California’s largest utilities in ensuring regulatory compliance under the Endangered Species Act, Clean Water Act, and Federal Power Act for numerous projects, including the development of new power plants and transmission infrastructure, and relicensing of hydropower plants.​

 

• We have been and are currently working on the development of three utility-scale photovoltaic solar energy projects in California, all of which are greater than 250 megawatts.
